Dental Implants

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS?

INTERVIEW WITH A DENTAL IMPLANT PATIENT

For many people who are missing teeth in Raleigh, dental implants are the next best thing to having your own teeth. Often patients will receive them following a tooth extraction and/or a bone regeneration. With years of university-based research and clinical use, dental implants are now a long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing alternative to missing teeth.

Raleigh Dental Implant PROCEDURE

Our patients are typically placed under local anesthesia during the procedure. With the assistance of our Erbium Chromium YSGG laser, this procedure is less traumatic than an extraction and post-operatively should be less tender. The dental implant is placed in the jaw and allowed to heal for about four months; it may be temporized immediately but this is usually under special conditions. Most of the time, the dental implant is completed in two stages for optimal healing: Placement and Healing followed by the Restorative phase. The prosthetic device is fabricated by your dentist and placed.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE of Dental Implants

We will recommend an oral hygiene program. If you follow the program consistently your dental implants from North Raleigh Periodontics can last as long as your natural teeth.
